Gilles MARTIN, born in 1951, in Tournan-en-Brie (Seine et Marne).
I live in Bergerac (Dordogne).
In 1968 I learned the basics of photography at École Hôtelière (Paris) Photo Club.
After several technical
workshops, I startred working as a science photographe at the Université de Paris VI (1973-1998). In parallel
I gave workshops and had my work exhibited in many places. I then stopped photography for a few years.
In 2000, I got a large format photography initiation at a workshop with Jean-Claude Dal Cin (Astaffort), an expert on the
zone system, and I started photography again with a passion.
Now, when I turn my camera to landscapes and nature's details, it's not only to record them, but for their esthetic essence,
eminently photographic, impossible to describe in words.
